Asymptotically Optimal Controls for Time-Inhomogeneous Networks

چکیده
A framework is introduced for the identification of controls for single-class timevarying queueing networks that are asymptotically optimal in the so-called uniform acceleration regime. A related, but simpler, first-order (or fluid) control problem is first formulated and, for a class of performance measures that satisfy a certain continuity property, it is then shown that any policy that is optimal for the fluid control problem is asymptotically optimal for the original network problem. Examples of performance measures with this property are presented, and simulations implementing proposed asymptotically optimal policies are presented. The use of directional derivatives of the reflection map for solving fluid optimal control problems is also illustrated. This work serves to complement a large body of literature on asymptotically optimal controls for time-homogeneous networks.

Nonparametric adaptive time-dependent multivariate function estimation
We consider the nonparametric estimation problem of time-dependent multivariate functions observed in a presence of additive cylindrical Gaussian white noise of a small intensity. We derive minimax lower bounds for the L-risk in the proposed spatio-temporal model as the intensity goes to zero, when the underlying unknown response function is assumed to belong to a ball of appropriately construc...
متن کاملAnalysis of SITA policies
We analyze the performance of Size Interval Task Assignment (SITA) policies, for multi-host assignment in a non-preemptive environment. Assuming Poisson arrivals, we provide general bounds on the average waiting time independent of the job size distribution. We establish a general duality theory for the performance of SITA policies. We provide a detailed analysis of the performance of SITA syst...
متن کاملStability Analysis and Optimal Control of Vaccination and Treatment of a SIR Epidemiological Deterministic Model with Relapse
In this paper, we studied and formulated the relapsed SIR model of a constant size population with standard incidence rate. Also, the optimal control problem with treatment and vaccination as controls, subject to the model is formulated. The analysis carried out on the model, clearly showed that the infection free steady state is globally asymptotically stable if the bas...
متن کاملAsymptotically Optimal Regular Synthesis of Reversible Logic Networks
We propose a network of generalized Toffoli gates with multiple EXORs for the realization of reversible functions. If implemented as a quantum circuit, the cost of such gates is shown to be only marginally higher than the cost of a Toffoli gate with a single EXOR and the same number of controls. The main result is a regular synthesis procedure which allows for the creation of asymptotically opt...
متن کاملLinear matrix inequality approach for synchronization of chaotic fuzzy cellular neural networks with discrete and unbounded distributed delays based on sampled-data control
In this paper, linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach for synchronization of chaotic fuzzy cellular neural networks (FCNNs) with discrete and unbounded distributed delays based on sampled-data controlis investigated. Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional combining with the input delay approach as well as the free-weighting matrix approach are employed to derive several sufficient criteria in terms of...
